A Suggested list of Materials for Life Drawing Sketchbook, hardback A5 or A4 (for homework and practise) Pencils, various, Between B and 8B, (no harder than B recommended) Charcoal Compressed charcoal White chalk or pastel pen and nibs ink or black watercolour / gouache sticks, sponges, rags, etc., whatever will make a mark! Putty rubber Masking tape (or clips to hold paper to board) fixative - (Hair Spray is a good cheap alternative) Paper: cartridge, sugar, newsprint A good supply of cheaper papers is recommended for short poses heavier cartridge or watercolour paper for longer poses. Colour media - Pastel, watercolour, crayon, gouache etc. - if you wish to work in colour. This list is by no means exhaustive and not all of it is compulsory. Add to it or remove according to what you find suits you. |
